Metla's 1: i7 score sounds wrong, and your x2 Snorkbox.....I guess it has to do with GPU and HDD also...however, some of those dont seem right, will try at home...

My Kentsfield at work is stock, but 4GB RAM and NV210 = 836...I did have a number of programs running however HDD and GPU plays a big part!

Metla's 1: i7 score sounds wrong, .

Yeah, real wrong :(

The reason I wanted a benchmark app was because W7 was ranking the i3 laptop higher.

I'll need to sit down tomorrow and compare the individual test results.

What models are you comparing and what are the power settings when testing?

Note that benchmarks which Intel have their hand in (eg: SYSmark 2012) favour Intel CPUs and give higher benchmarks even if other CPUs are actually faster.

This is the reason why AMD, VIA and nVidia quit recently from BAPCO.

Apparently.

:stare: what the specs on those PCs?

Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40 GHz 1155
Kingston Hyper X 16GB (4x4GB)
WD 1000GB Black Edition 6 Gb/s
OCZ Vertex3 2.5" 120G 6 Gb/s
Asus Motherboard
NVIDIA Quadro 4000 2GB
DVD Writer
Cooler Master 690 II Advanced
SilverStone Strider Plus 750W Modular PSU
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

normally get 4600-4800 on tests but we only got 3700 this week.
Usually over clocked to 4.5 but it is running stock at 3.4 today, not sure why but i think the turboboost is turned off
Will run another one if i get that working

EDIT: and comparing to the old 1366 i7 running 3.0Ghz got a 2700 score, the sandy bridge is waaaaaaaaaay faster

HT and the Quadro eh?

You know it!!

EDIT: Would like to see what difference a good gaming card like a 580 would make as the quadros are not too good for direct3d

SolMiester

I would imagine the SATA 3 SSD would double the numbers for disk I/O as well!

Just compared, the 3Dmarks of quadro are almost double, and the same with memory and disk....
