View Full Version : Buildings plan software

Anybody use software to create a plan of buildings on some land. I have copied and pasted a plan using google maps, but now want to covert that picture into a plan drawing.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy have tried using publisher but some of the buildings are an odd shape. I was thinking draw a overlay of the buildings then delete the picture leaving the plan of the buildings. TIA Wayne

AutoCAD would do it, but is very expensive. I suggest ask around friends and acquaintances to see who has a copy and may assist.

FloorPlan is a good alternative, but yet again not free http://imsidesign.com/Products/TurboFloorPlan/TurboFloorPlanHomeLandscapePro/tabid/1650/Default.aspx

Maybe Google SketchUp (http://sketchup.google.com/). Can import and export to Google Earth. Reviewed here (http://reviews.cnet.com/illustration/google-sketchup/1707-3633_7-31861341.html).

In the 1980's I used Imagineer Technical, which I understand was renamed to Smart sketch. Last time I enquired it was about $1200. Unfortunately my Imagineer ver 1.0 worked in Win98, NOT winXP. It was good though.
