Brother 2140 printer crapped out and replaced it with a 2130 machine. My son has laptop with windoze 7 it worked fine printing on shared old printer, I deleted the 2140 in network sharing and did the add printer thing.
It cant find it so googled problem it says go to network sharing centre and check that turn on network discovery, turn on file and printer sharing public folder sharing is on and it was on as you would expect because it printed on old printer.
Next step was go to sharing and find the xp computer called lounge which has the new printer installed its not there only showing itself (laptop) and thomspson router.
What has gone so horribly wrong? can anyone help please otherwise its out cheque book to computer chick

Uninstall the old drivers, install the new drivers (dont plug the new printer in) until the install tells you to. Then share the new printer
