Hi all. I've gotten myself a mini-TOSLINK cable to run digital audio from my laptop to my stereo receiver. Unfortunately, it seems that ALSA can't see any SPDIF output. Here are the results from an aplay -l and -L:

I've tried forcing aplay to run a sample output to surround51 and surround71, both just come out the analog output, at no point does the laser light up.

I've verified that it works just fine in Winblows, what am I missing?
