Hi Guys
My Asus N20A notebook running Vista Home Premium has started throwing up a download drivers window for my "unknown hardware". I have googled this phenomonen but haven't been able to understand the remedies for it. Is there someone here who can, in plain language, help me, please?
Many thanks in advance.
Rob

Go to its entry in device manager then go to the details tab. Change it to hardware ids. Copy and paste whats there in google

Thanks Speedy and Agent, unfortunately doesn't help much as it refers to the Mother Board drivers not having been downloaded????? Apart from this thing the computer is running fine. It will be due toi be scanned by Asus soon to upgrade drivers etc so I think I will ignore it until that happens and see if that fixes it.

Well to know what driver you need to install, you need to find out what the "Unknown Device" actually is.

Go into device manager, and find the "Unknown Device" then copy its device IDs here so we can find out what it is.

There is a small program "Driver Max" which is used to back up all the drivers. It also looks for them and identifies "unknown device" using an online database.
It is a free download.
