Hi we are recording a conference seminar, on our computer, and the computer lost power, now the file is there and there is data, but because we didn't manually stop the recording in the program we were using, it didn't finalize the save, but the file size is 334 mb, but it won't play, is there any way we can extract that data? to get the recording??

Thanks,

You might try something like Recuva (http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva), no promises though, the file may be corrupted and/or incomplete (as you inferred).
Does the file have a valid suffix (e.g. "???.avi" or similar, if its just called "???.file" or something, try changing it to a valid type (the Jet Audio output one?)).

What media was it being recorded to? When you use the word Finalize it kinda suggest it was being written to an optical drive (CD/DVD).

If it was just on a HDD it may simply need to have the appropriate extension added (eg mpg / avi / mp3 / vob

Hi stevensaaron

Just to help us out what format were you recording your Conference with? Jet Audio has fifty seven of them!! Mp3 is not one of them. :groan::crying: Amazing. I assume you have tried to open the file in Jet Audio. Thinking along the lines of opening it in a Sound Editor if possible.
