Morning all

One of my users has one of these massive printers, he's using it with USB as he's on a laptop and only uses mobile broadband.

He wants to be able to scan from the printer to his laptop, which should be easy.

However he's on a netbook with Win 7 Pro and the EasyOperator software that comes with on CD with the printer refuses to install in Win7. I've tried the compatibility function of Win7 to make the install believe it's installing on Xp (I've even tried it as win2000) but the installer still says wrong version of windows.

I've been to the Fuji site (both NZ and US) and only drivers are available, no software downloads to fix this that I could see.

Any other ideas? I am getting a bit stumped on this one.

You're only asking for software. Doesnt mean you need a contract

Here (http://onlinesupport.fujixerox.com/setupDriverForm.do?ctry_code=NZ&lang_code=en&d_lang=en&pid=DC156), it doesnt provide Win 7 drivers and software so the best option is to use the Vista software and pray that it works.

On second look, that may not help as it only provides printer drivers and not scan software.

Does it support scan to ftp?

That's the problem> Weird as every other printer manufacturer I can think of supply links to download apps for their printers, as well as the drivers.

That seems weird as the machine comes with the FJ Network Mailbox util (or whatever it's called) which is for receiving scans from the machine but only if it's setup on a network - but that page doesn't mention that.

your best option may be to put is on the network and setup scan to email option. Dont necessarily need exchange server, you can scan to gmail, hotmail etc. Just need to setup the smtp server, depending on who your ISP is.

Or scan to ftp as mentioned earlier

FX machines are generally pretty cool and easy to use, but not via usb :S esp not these multi-function ones.

As said, plug it into your network and set up the SMTP server, should work fine.

Got a hold of someone at FX, they say it simply can't do scanning to PC via USB, and they've tried all sorts of workarounds for this already. Bummer, and strange to not have that functionality.
