I have been using IP Cop now for sometime at a couple of sites and it is time they were rebuilt as now have a few minor issues.

I thought it would pay to look at any other options and have tested Endian software but find it buggy and cannot greylist a website - not that I can find easily.

Also read through PFSense docs and not sure how good of a proxy it is.

Any one recommend open source options that are not all commandline tweaking to get it to work.

I have been happy with IPCop and may well re install. The current issues are one site cannot access www.adobe.com or Itunes Store anymore.

Look into Smoothwall express if you know linux well, its a firewall OS that you install on a machine then just leave it and do everything over the network, and can also have the linux proxy server Squid installed on to it.
