We have a property in a remote location on Banks Peninsula with a Telecom broadband connection (fibre). Broadband is down quite often, we're not sure why, but we suspect it is our remoteness and the lack of customers to complain.

We'd like to move to another provider, but if we do and broadband drops out, will we get the same service that we get with Telecom? Or will it still be Telecom who provides the service and because we are with another provider, we will be put at the bottom of a very long queue?

How does this work, exactly?

You would just be putting another layer of confusion into the mix. Telecom/xtra would still be the people sorting out the problem unless you move to a completely different system like a satelite link.

Thanks people.
We suspected as much.
We'll just have to stay with Telecom.
