The following is what is on the sodimm module label. Can anyone tell me what each of the numbers mean please. I can't find this information on the net. Thanks!

It looks like some sort of DDR2-533 module but there should be some more numbers before the PC2-.... bit which would tell you what size it is.

Maybe similar to this (http://cgi.ebay.com/Samsung-256MB-PC2-4200S-444-12-C3-DDR2-RAM-Memory-200P-/160177122438) 256 mb ram

Yes but what does each number between the hyphens indicate?

Probably part of the model number.

What brand is it? Do you have a photo of it?

The pc2-4200 means it's ddr2-533.
No idea about the s-444-12.
The c3 is probably the Cas latency.

Can't help with the actual ID of the chip

But every time I read this I keep seeing "Sodium Identification"

How to ID sodium? bucket of water should do the trick :D might even work for sodimm soo

PC2-4200s-444-12-c3

4200 - the type, DDR2-533.
444-12, probably timings.
c3 latency.

Does it matter? The only thing you need to worry about is what type it is, if you want to add more.

Some boards\RAM don't like it if you mix latencies...
