View Full Version : taking my notebook to australia

Have decided to take my notebook to Australia to use whilst on holiday this year. Last time the cost of using the hotels internet connection or an internet cafe proved expensive. I have thought about purchasing a Vodafone T stick USB prepaid on arrival, which seems a reasonable cost. Using it for emails and surfing but no downloading. Has anyone a better idea? Cheers.

If you aren't staying in a hotel see if a local telco will do a temporary broadband plan (like 1/2 months or however long your there for). Usinga USB broadband stick will offer you reduced speeds but aleast it won't cost you a fortune. However an actual plan may work out cheaper. If your in a hotel usb is really your only option unless they're on a free wifi hotspot :D. I wouldn't recommend using an NZ 3G/usb plan. I really can't believe how thick some people are. It is like when cell phones first came in and people ended with rather large bills all because they used it like they did an ordinary phone.
The guy must have lived in a cave as there had been plenty in the news before his trip about mobile roaming.
