hi, just a follow up to my perious post, the bios id at the very bottom of the start up screen goes:

12/28/95 -SiS-5511-5513-2A5IDM4EC-00

then there's some other things on the top which says:

WG 71PS2 011696

So can anyone indetify the manufature and model number of my motherboard. (Even though i've been to hundreds of useless websites already)

Thanks

Hi SY

Try going to www.google.com and entering SiS5511 in the search box.

A deeper look at the sites found, and using the translate feature for foreign sites may lead you somewhere.

(Looks to me like an Asus board)

Goto this site, download and run CT BIOS to identify your motherboard manufacturer.

The link I provided in my previous post indicates that this board is made based on a SiS 5511/12/13 Chipset and made by Microstar.

http://www.msi-computer.de/support/prodlist.php3?Chip_id=33 gives you 5 models made by Microstar - you'll have to look over your board for the model number.
