This story (http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/education/4824535/Kindy-kids-get-gun-licences) is about how kindergarten kids are taught gun safety and are rewarded with a 'Gun License' before they can play with toy guns. They are taught to shoot at targets and not at people.

I think that this is brilliant and teaches gun safety at an early age. This is much like when I was at primary school and we got a visit from a traffic cop who taught us road safety rules. We even had our bicycles inspected and stickered passed or failed.

We only have one rule in our house.
No water pistols inside.

Not a bad idea but I'm not sure I'd trust the kid with a .357 magnum just yet.

Its not them id be worried about its the ones with a mini gun you have to hide from, actually hiding is no good either

I'm kind of undecided on this... I think it's great to teach firearm safety, but I just have to wonder if this is a tad too young, especially as it may introduce firearms as a solid concept to a number of the children in the 3 - 4 age bracket who otherwise would be blissfully unaware for a few more years.

What about “Doctors and Nurses”? :D

Do they get a swinger for that too? ;)

Kids should be learning to read and write.

Kids should be learning to read and write.

Kids of Kindy age are learning how to play and interact with other kids.

Kids should be learning to read and write.

The same could be said for teens and some adults I guess.

Yeah , I was taught gun safety . Gun safety up to the eyeballs
It never stopped me or my friends doing stupid things with our slug guns when we were young.

You cant teach common sense & considering consequences of your actions before you act. That has to be learnt the hard way unfortunately.

You have to modify them so they actually shoot. First you need to drill out the barrel...:D

I'm the complete opposite. Though that may be since I never had access to anything except a water pistol, which was good enough for me.

On a side note, paintball is fun!
