This appears to only give a very wide indication of battery power left in my Asus netbook. Is this normal with these Netbook meters.?
I don't expect accuracy but I though it would be better than I am getting, or am I expecting too much.?

The % remaining should be very accurate. But windows calculates the time remaining value on current power use, so if you're checking it while the machine is idle & running everything on low power it will show much higher, then when you launch some applications and start doing things, the time will drop rapidly. I can get mine to show about 20 hours remaining in idle, but in real use it becomes about 7 - 8.

Thanks inphinity, I appreciate your explanation. I didn't know how it calculated. I will just take note of %. Otherwise I am very pleased with the Netbook for what it does.

I always install Battery Bar on every laptop - free and fantastic.

Gives you some reasonable stats even in the freebie version.
