Hi folks, I have a Dell Laptop with Windows Vista Business as the operating system. Of late (since last week) when I start up my laptop I get a pop message with the following description:
" The procedure entry point PowerRead AC Value could not be located in th dynamic link library POWRPROF.dll. "
I tried to Google this message and there are quite a few programs provided who claim to solve this error by cleaning the registry etc with a sofware. I did buy two of these products online but none on them worked. I'm still getting the message on start up. I also tried to restore the system with a previous date (2 months prior) but the system is unable to restore iteslf due to an internal error.
Can anyone of you please let me know how do I reinstall this dll file and correct my system.
Thanks and Regards.
Aspi.

Read this:

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/powrprof-dll-not-found-missing-error.htm

Especially the malware section. What anti-spyware programs do you have and what anti-virus?

And never BUY anything that claims to fix registries etc, they are bogus and/or malware.

I have Norton Internet Security as my anti-spyware and anti-virus programs.

Uninstall it and trhow it away.
Use either NOD32 (pay) or MS Security Essentials (free) for antvirus.
Use Spybot and either Malware Bytes or Superantispyware for anti-spywares. You should have at least 2.

Scan the PC with them all.
Download and run Hijackthis and post the log here for Speedy to check for you.

Then see what happens with your .dll problems.
