If you are one of the unforetunate souls like me who purchassed a new Gigabyte hd6580 And are Running 64bit Win7, AND Play crysis/most Nvidia EA Games are experienceing horrible Horrible HORRIBLE BSODs FEAR NOT there is an answer, and no its not go out and buy another new PSU as i was advised, but here it is two fixes
fix 1
check your card manufacturer they could have fixed this in a bios update (GPU Bios Vendor)

Fix 2
Open Catalyst and Enable Overdrive (what kind of person buys a Windforce and don't overclock?)
And DECREASE MEMORY clock from 1000 to 900mhz.
Play In DX9 Mode.

HOWEVER if you are a truly slippery character that HATEs having been ripped off by AMD or whoever manufactured your particular card and then knowingly sold this to you, then fear not here is the overclockers fix
fix 3

1.Download ATIFLASH 3.84 (http://downloads.ziddu.com/downloadfile/12295815/GA_HD6850_BIOS.rar.html)
2.DOWNLOAD ASUS HD 6870 BIOS (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/84290/ASUS.HD6870.1024.101013.html)
3.Create dos boot flash drive (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/46707-ms-dos-bootable-flash-drive-create.html)
4.Copy everything onto flash drive. Rename .bin file to easy to type name.
5.Boot to dos and type atiflash -p -f 0 xxxx.bin
6.Install 10.12 CCC2
7.Overclock, mess with the voltages, use msi afterburner to set custom fan and autorun.8. You must do the following at http://vr-zone.com/articles/amd-radeon-hd-6870-memory-voltage-modification--with-a-pencil/10160.html?doc=10160 except the author shows a resistor that will increase memory voltage, you need to shade the one just beside it(right of the image). Make sure Memory voltage is 1.4v or 1400mv from the problematic default 1600mv.

hahahahahah eat that you unsavoury W*****S at ATI/AMD your 775/1000HD6580 is now a 915/1050 HD 6870.....mind you i Overclocked the Core to 875 before the 10.12 update anyway

YES THIS WILL VOID WARRANTY, try and get someone to replace your card that plays most games and anyway. yes I KNOW THIS SOUNDS DODGY PUTTING PENCIL ONYOUR CARD. Have faith in the ASymetric way of thinking.i WILL NOT BE BEATEN BNY THIS. BTW check your card manufacturer they could have fixed this in a bios update (GPU Bios Vendor)
