Hi All!

My netbook has been running at 100% CPU for a while now and locks up a fair bit. Posting a Hijack This! log as I think there may be some nasties running around. If anyone could have a look through this, I'd be greatful.

Thanks in advance and happy new year.

Which version of Security essentials as version 1 could do this if you didn't tell it to exclude MsMpEng.exe, but since installing version 2 on my netbook that file doesn't exist in the new version

I installed it a couple of days ago so it should be the latest version... but that could definitely be the problem here.

Well the latest version doesn't seem to include that file, when did the problem start occurring after you installed MSE or before then?

Log looks Ok to me. Daemon tools maybe causing it?? Use ccleaner and untick its entry. Then reboot then see if the CPU usage goes to 100%
