View Full Version : Playing from BOTH laptop's internal AND external speakers

Any ideas if this can be done? At the moment, the audio jack is wired to my ASUS laptop which has a pair of external speakers. I am wondering if the internal speakers can be un-disabled for this setup.

Cheers :)

Dont think so. Unless you put the jack in 1/2 way instead of right in

the external speakers would be better anyway

There would probably be a built-in switch in the audio-out socket in the laptop to turn off the internal speakers, not something you can do anything about. :)

Most of the time the headphone jack is one of the switchable types, and thus cuts off the internal speakers via hardware, so it would need some modifications to the circuit.

Not really difficult modifications, just in a laptop where everything is tiny and there's no room it could be hard..

Why would you want both speakers to play anyway? The internal one would sound very garbage-y compared to the external, wouldn't it stand out more?

The external speakers are actually built-in speakers in my secondary display. Right now, my laptop is placed next to the LCD monitor. I am hoping to play from both sets of speakers so that they appear to be in stereo.
