Hi, my friend is having a problem, with his laptop. When you try to delete a file, the dialog box comes up saying it is deleting the file, but the box never goes away. if you ctrl+alt+del and end the explorer task then run it again, the file IS deleted, but the dialog never goes away. I tried running CCleaner to clean the registry but that didn't fix it.
Any ideas, guys?

1. Have you uninstalled the program, the file belongs to first??

2. WHAT files are you deleting?

It's just any file.
When he told me about the problem, I made a "New Folder" on the desktop and tried to delete it. The box came up, and stayed there... after I ended the explorer task and started it again, the folder had been deleted.

I have found that XP and Vista are a bit buggy if you try to delete a big folder or a lot of files.

But a few files only should be no problem

It was just an empty folder.
It does the same thing for shortcuts too.

I would say its a refresh prob if its an icon on the desktop. It happens on this too sometimes. Until I refresh the screen / press F5
