Hi,

Im currently running win 7 home premium 64bit. Up until just yesterday I was able to add hard drives and the would show up as expected.

Today I plugged in my external hard drive to run a back up and it wouldnt show up under my computer.

It will show up under device manager and disk management but not my computer. Other internal HD's behave the same way.

Ive tried doing a system restore but the problem persists and Im scratching my head.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Do they have formatted partitions under Disk Management? If they do try and assign them a drive letter.

Obviously the drives need to be formatted, but once done, Windows "Should" have automatically assigned the drives the next letter in the Alphabet.

yes all drives were formatted and working fine until the other day. Now no external (or new internal) drives get a drive letter... :annoyed:

The maximum number of drives you can have is 26. You don't have more than that do you?
