The Adblock on my FireFox and IE8 no longer work on this site, but Ok on others. Has PC World a secret Ad Enforcer?

Did you subscribe to someone in FF? It works fine here

You must have white-listed this site thus none of the filters work, perhaps.

My ad block (adblock plus) works fine :)

I even found that it is possible to block all the useless crap on the right with an element hiding rule:

pressf1.co.nz##TD[width="300"][valign="top"]

just add that as a custom rule if you don't think the site looks quite right these days :D

YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!

Now all I need is the same for the top and I'll be sorted. It is a particularly awful looking at the top.

While some adds make reading a page difficult, I know, I just killed one on this page myself. We should remember that it is the adds that pay for all the free content on the web!

If we do it to often we will lose the free stuff, or find ourselves paying for it.

I had this problem recently. The solution was to uninstall AdBlockPlus, reboot, then download and install it again.

Clarification: AdBlock did not remove any adverts unless I blocked each one. When reinstalling AdBlock, adverts were automatically removed. However I now understand that this thread is about the PCWorld advert on PF1, not adverts in general. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

OK ... so I uninstalled AdBlock Plus and now I can't find the same download site for it

It was working well until around 9am this morning, turned my back to make a coffee and came back to see ads on the RHS of the page ... didn't touch anything.

Can anyone help out with the correct link to AdBlocker Plus for Chrome v7 ... I know I'm going to kick myself but the site I went to has no "download now" button ... going wrong somewhere ....:crying

That's weird, i just use http://pressf1.co.nz

I didn't even know that http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/ existed.
