Might be a sign of dementia? I recall that terrible incident, where the grandfather chased his 6 yr old granddaughter with a gun, after annihilating his sons, around his pukekohe farm home (I think). Police found a small pyramid type "thinking" shed, where he squatted for long periods.

It means they are spoken from the back of the throat without pronouncing the vowels bit like when you hoick up a big greeny
