Hi all. I'm after one or two things, not too sure if they're out there, but if they are, google ain't bringing 'em up.

Basicly, what I need (or rather want), is a device, pref. 12v or battery powered, that acts as a bluetooth handsfree thing, but instead of being a headset, it outputs the audio over FM.

Also, I'm after something similar, but instead of bluetooth, it just needs a microphone input. For use as a basic in-van PA system.

I know I could probably get a head-unit that could do both of those things, but I'm after some external devices.

Microphone over FM, easy almost all wireless ones do that, you just need to get one that supports changing frequency.not sure about bluetooth thp

Yeah, there's those 'FM Extenders' that used to work through a cars cassette deck. A small amount of electronic know-how could replace the FM receiver bit with a microphone hook up.

There's probably something similar available for hooking up ipods to car stereos... although this all depends on having an old style stereo.

Dick SMith used to have little kits to build FM transmitters (with microphone). Maybe some trolling of DS or Jaycar will get some results.

I remember those! they were pretty easy to build since the PCB's were all ready made. you just needed to get the right parts (they came with it too) and solder them into the right place

You mean a multi-function 12v transmitter like this (http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/246294725/_Hot_Selling_Multi_Function_Bluetooth.html)? reviewed at cnet (http://reviews.cnet.com/car-audio/venturi-mini/4505-3425_7-32784957.html), and sold on Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Venturi-MINI-multi-function-Car-Transmitter/dp/B0011Z7I62) with user reviews.

For possible closest NZ search results, click here. (http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&biw=1024&bih=578&noj=1&q=site%3A.co.nz+%2Bexternal+%2Bbluetooth+%2Bfm+%2B 12v+%2Baudio+-wireless&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=)

Was it the product - the transmitter, that exists or is it something else? Thanks...

Nah, FM transmitters exist aplenty, I'm just after an all-in-one transmitter with bluetooth/wireless mic.

If it does exist, two avenues, I have found for global sourcing electronic devices is Amazon and online Asian exporters (e.g. Alibaba). The trick is finding out what the generic wholesale product name is. Since as I have found, the same product can have quite different names in different regions/online segments (e.g. like NZ petrol vs USA Gas, pharmacy=drug store, pitcher=jug, etc).

Took me two hours to find a new cam angle sensor, which is called a "induction magnetic pickup" from some sellers. Ended up finding it on Amazon. But once you get the name - then can Google to find closest/cheapest online seller. Often start search with Google search operators to target better.
