Got offered a provisioning job at Telstra.
Got 2 interviews tomorrow too.
Oh er.

Don't know what to do.
Here - they doing a restructure next year so I'd say I won't ever get to be a real employee. And they want me to have a big unpaid holiday (weeks) at the end of the year anyway, which is mostly why I kept looking.

Rather sick of looking, and applying now though. 4 years is long enough?

Whats the opinions? Telstra pays less. On the other hand not too noxious sounding. On the other hand can't trust any corporates......It's also Penrse. Then again, traffic sucks in either direction.

See...........I dither.

Even when you're 'happy' in your job, you should always keep an eye on what's happening in the job market. And interviews require regular practice - if you're not interested when they offer you the role, you can always turn them down.

No point in putting the cart before the horse... Get the job offer, THEN think about what your answer should be.

Er. But I have. Now they want the decision.

But you have 2 interviews tomorrow - delay them until you get through those....

one idea (1)
Accept the telstra job. Dont muck them around, dont sign any contacts.
Then go to the 2 interviews anyway & see how they pan out.

The Interview process can stretch out for a week before you hear back, so unless you think you will get offered the job the day after the interveiw.....

Employers can fire you within 30days for no reason, it should go both ways...hint hint

30 days? Try 3 months.

30 days? Try 3 months.

Only if it's a clause in your contract. It's not an "automatic" thing - you must explicitly sign up for the 90 day trial period.

I thought you had got a job with HP, did that not work out ?

Best of luck

I would take the first job I could, you can always look round for another job later on.

Not HP. And no, that place was dead before they got going.

Anyway looks like Telstra, the other 2 sound good but they are going to fluff around doing second interviews and such ages from now.

No.
Organisations can only provide this 90 day clause on employment contracts if they employ 19 or fewer staff.

Metla - I don't know but they will fold. There was a questionnaire I asked here around then. Various other things screamed out they will. Not to mention their amazing lack of customers.

Nomad - National has changed this rule.
