In the last two weeks I've tried registering for an Avast Home license from here (http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php), cause the license # I have here is a few months old. I've tried registering with 3 different email address, and haven't heard a peep from Avast - in the past it's normally taken around 1 hour to get the key.

Is anyone else having trouble, or if it's working is someone able to register and PM me the key?

Cheers. :)

I put the Free avast on a workshop PC two weeks ago, just to play about with it for some more testing. Then it decides the Licence is going to expire and to get a new one WTF.

I know it normally has a yearly, but 2weeks, and it wouldn't allow me to get a new one - Out it came :yuck:

I know Xnet blocks Avast for some reason. They said they'll check why, but never got back to me.

So, if youre with Xnet, use another email addy (ie: Gmail). When I had Avast I was waiting for the key too. Never got it, until I decided to check Gmail (I had forwarded emails from there to Xnet). It was stuck on the Gmail site

Bin Avast and put Microsoft Security Essentials on it ..... think it's better than Avast now.

To achieve success, for what it is worth, I find it necessary to first uninstall Avast. Then install Avast 5 from a flash drive, connect the web and Avast is easily registered with a hotmail or gmail alias.
MSE, in my experience, has a few limitations but is also an alternative.

I know MSSE is 'better' than Avast, but I still come across the occasional XP PC that just doesn't like MSSE. ;)

I've even tried the new AVG, but :yuck: it's horrible!

A clean install of Avast 5 free requires no code, only a registration. It is good for one year.
