Hmm, I got it to work once, but can't seem to get past it again.

Any tips on speed/timing to reproduce this?

Edit: restarted my phone and can easily bypass the password lock screen now.

Apple, (never been the biggest fan of this phone) this really sucks. Pushing a few buttons and ba-zing! straight past the security screen.

Meh, I don't lock my phone anyway so don't care :D
Is the iPhone the new Windows?

Not to mention that everything runs as root. Terrible.

Big big fail ....

Is it a flaw, or a known bypass for technicians if they receive phones for repair?

Good question.

My next question would be: Once in the temporary unlock state, can it be sync'd with a PC? Usually if you try and sync an iPhone and it's locked with a Passcode, it's not able to be sync'd until the passcode is put in and the device unlocked.

Also, how does this affect the like of iPod Touches / iPads? I've not had a chance to grab my wifes iTouch and have a play, but considering you can't make calls on them (So therefor no Emergency Call), I somehow doubt it'll work...

Still? That was posted yesterday...

Anyway, the calender bug is fixed in 4.2 and the unlock bug has also been fixed.

Doh! :D

This particular bug was the last straw for me with Apple (and their non-response to my support call about it), and resulted in my jumping ship to an Android-powered Nexus One.

I haven't regretted the decision for a single moment!!!

Haha, I've just got an iPhone 3G which I managed to get for quite cheap, until I can scrape some cash together and buy something better.

Yeah I'm stoked with my N1, and know that because others in the community have reviewed the unlock code and things that there's no "back door" method of unlocking it like that.
Couldn't be happier with the device, especially as CyanogenMod has now enabled FM Radio, I'm surprised by how much I use it :D

Still, rumors of another Nexus Two or similar style device for the launch of Gingerbread are floating around, they've got me tickled :D

But alas, I digress, this is about Apple, as everything always is ... ;)
