Take it back to the place you bought it from and get them to set it for you. OR Find a Japanese student and ask them nicely :D

May not help, but there are similar problems elsewhere with Road Explorer equipment:

A Ford Explorer?.
Hmm.
Take a freshly prepared candle with lines at 19.7 mm intervals up the height of the candle, or along the length if it is lying on the side. As the sun rises past the arm of the gallows, light the candle and place on the top of the dash. Each consumed line represents exactly one hour (exactly to Ford standards). As a Ford victim, you should be accustomed to variable quantities (e.g., in the warranty document), so you will not be bothered by days having anywhere between 7 and 30 hours; it is all part of the glorious tapestry of life that is Ford ownership.

Disclaimer: Ford have not paid me to write this. ;)

When I got my Jap import I put an NZ Sony stereo in it with MP3 player. I also got a clock that I stuck to the dash. It worked for me. :)
