Hi,

This morning I found 18 updates ( over and above the auto update ones ) the only file for the above number is in german

Question: will the computer translate that to my computer's english- or if not where would I find that endlish version ?

Out of the 18 I am left with 5 failed.-to be installed-- all appear to pertain to Office 2007

I have KB2344993, KB 2345043, KB2344875

No windows wont translate it to english. There's different install files for different versions of windows. Wait for a few days then see if its on the MS site. What does the error say for the Office 07 updates?

Hi Speedy,

I used w update etc and got all, one by one all except this KB2410711--and now I see the ESET icon has gone yellow which it does once a month - so this KB file must be crucial to that ( ESET do not auto update the connection with Microsoft and has to be done manually

I have qeried this with ESET in Aucland but they just shrug their shoulders-- not tht spoils ESET very acceptable A/v program -- but they could take the responsibility if they had a mind to it.

Thanks again

KB2410711 is the junk email filter install for OL. Dont think it has anything to do with NOD. This maybe the update.

Hi

Zquerty Speedy et al,

That last file KB2410711 must be the missing connection between ESET and Windows-- Icon colour now normal

I still think ESET could pre empt this regular monthly occurrance by setting an automatic update themselves
Still as I said ESET is a marvellous a/v

Thanks all

I think that you'll find that the change in "Icon" colour is caused by a setting in your installation of NOD32 !!

Hi Dunk,

Not so- this icon has always changed when Microsoft updates do not include ESET when auto updating

Wainui T guided me through this a year or so ago- and he did well.

Right click on the yellow icon brings up the fact that it does not have the latest file and connection with Microsoft

An individual install from M / update and reboot usually brings the colour back to normal--it works, but I do think ESET could correct this in house----I had conacted ESET in Aucland who refused to do so- said it was up to me

Left a sour note but overall ESET is worth every cent

When Nod32 turns orange, if you open the window under protection status it will tell you exactly what it doesn't like. It could be nod out of date, or more often its windows Updates, esp if you dont have the PC set to auto update.

To change the level of warnings for Windows updates in Nod32 -

On the Icon in the task tray, right click it, then left click Advanced setup (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/Advanced1287004878.jpg)- on the window that opens - go to tools/ System Updates, then on the right you can set to what ever level you want, OR turn the windows update off completely Path shown (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/Updates1287005031.jpg).

Hi Wainui T,

Thanks for that- I already have my computer on auto updates, as I consider --who am I to overrule the designers of M/s
However I reset that to critical which is the default and found it had been set there all along

The orange colour certainly goes back to normal when I manually download and install the necessary update

A very good a/v if anyone asks:D
