Hi all.

Just curiosity & edumacationn.

The power to drive a computer comes from the PSU. The HD may be a 160GB, which draws "X" power to run.

How much more power will a 1, 1.5, 2TB HDD require? I would assume that most off the shelf Tin Boxes would have a 350 PSU installed. At what point would a bigger PSU be reqd. Again assuming just an 'ordinary' computer, not meant for gaming? PJ

If anything, the larger, NEWER, HDD's will draw LESS power.
The power draw is mostly for the moving parts, spinning up the platters and moving the head.
There will be very little difference between drives of differing capacity.

Thanks for that. PJ
