utorrent normally always opens up on my secondary monitor. but now it opens on my main one, ever since i disabled my second monitor then re enabled it due to a one off issue.

now i keep on having to drag utorrent to the secondary monitor and maximize. how do i fix it so it always shows up on the secondary monitor like it used to? its utorrent 1.8.3

You can do that usually with the graphics driver. I've done it in the past with the nVidia drivers, I presume something is there the same in the ATI driver too?

Windows applications by default remember which position they were when closed...Open the program, move and resize as desired, then close. re-open should stay where it was closed in both position and size!

Tried that, it dont work

Then delete the setting.ini file or the registry key for the program...

there is no setting.ini file for it. and the registry did nothing

If its ATI then AFAIK you do have to drag it across. Not much else you can do about it. For it to appear on the other monitor

Get an nVidia card ;)

Maybe for some things, but for what you want to do, then no. Nvidia cards will do it without you having to drag it. And will let you (well the last time I used one) let you see 2 different screens. Its not that easy with ATI cards

The drivers for nVidia basically allow you on a per-application basis to determine which window it'll start up on, it can automatically reposition alert / message boxes to specific windows, and a myriad of other cool / useful things :)

Being useful now (Yes, I can be, at times):
- If you upgrade to Win7, then you can simply press the Windows key and an arrow button twice (Such as Win + Left, x2, to send it to the left monitor)
- You could lodge a bug report with the uTorrent people to see if they can code the functionality in to the software so it remembers its position itself

I fixed it by using a software that i used when i had windows vista.

for some reason, i still miss vista :(, it has something special about it. though when i get more ram i am definitly popping windows 7 on it

Yeah Win7 in my experience needs a solid 1.25 -> 1.5GB to be decent. You can run it on 768MB but it's terribly slow.

Try upgrading to version 2.0.3?
