Question One: Toshiba Satellite A100-_______?

Question Two: Does the laptop come with Utility CDs?

Question Three: Try poking around the Toshiba website and see if you can download the required drivers.

www.intel.com

Under support, look for drivers and downloads.

Under products, look for Chipsets

Product Line is Chipset Software

Select Intel® Chipset Identification Utility

Download it. It should tell you what chipset you have. Then we can help you out further.
