I am not a user of Outlook
but I have a Vista computer here and they're using Outlook 2003.
home user,
recently Outlook comes up with a message;
"Connection to Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable"
did some google research on this but it seems a bit gobbly gook to me.

any suggestions how to get Outlook up and running again.

Sounds like they chose the wrong account to configure / add. Delete the email acct, and re-add / reconfigure it

Not certain how to delete the account when Outlook won't even open.

Start>Control Panel>Mail> remove whatever profile is in there.

Have you tried uninstall Office 2003 and reinstall? Is the PST file for outlook backed up?

Find the PST file. How big is same? If over two Gig it's possibly corrupt.

If they were somehow using exchange then it would be an OST file...

Weird that outlook let it set up an exchange account at all.
