Went to a photo seminar and we were warned about backups in home even if it was unplugged.

Where do you store your offsite backups?

I may not want to leave my stuff at someone's place.
Are there any free online solutions and are they reputable (incl non free ones)? I thought about storing just my most impt stuff. Like if it was a couple of years can I go back and access them?

Does anyone use a bank custody vault that they subscribe to? Like storing a portable hdd.

Cheers ....

I take an external hard drive to work and leave it in my desk drawer. Quite a few people do the same thing.

Hmm .. not sure if I do that, if it gets into the wrong hands.

I have stuff on 3 HDDs. The internal one, an external that lives in the house and an external that does not live here. Small hassle fetching it to do new backups, but if there was a fire or burglary I'd say both drives in the house will be history.

In the garden shed/garage, so long as it's not attached to the house (in case of a fire).

Another good one is a USB flash drive in the car glove box.

My backup is in a brick and concrete shed away from the house.

X2

(well actually about eight internal ones spread around the house, two external ones and one off-site).
