Which tool bar?

If its the one beside the start button, then you can right click them and choose delete.

If its in the start menu, right click the start button and choose open, then browse to where the icons are.

When you say 'toolbar' you don't mean the bar next to the time on the very bottom right hand corner of the screen.
This is the system tray and is basically programs that have been loaded when windows starts up.
You will either need to uninstall them in add/remove in control panel, or do what bm suggested and delete them from your startup.

Go to run, then msconfig and selective startup, look for 'mcaffee.exe ' or similar and uncheck
