Hi all.

Got a Apple Power mac g5 here. Its the water cool system. Its powering on and no sound or display all fans start up and can hear cooling system running after about 1min there is 1 light near the top cpu that turns on red and after couple more seconds the bottom cpu turns on red.

Any ideas?

this may help diagnose the problem.
So it is a power mac and not mac pro?
Power macs use the older G5 cpu and the Mac Pro uses Intel Xeons

Seen that page and is no help. I have seen the red light on the front of the board go when the plastic side covers removed thats no problem as it turns off when sides on case.

Serial no: YM4482VBQPP.

What do you mean it's no help?

Take it to an Apple repair place like it says.

Apples are red, so are the lights.
So, what's the problem? :D

Just do what you said, gut it and put a real computer in it!
(you could probably sell the crApple parts on TM for enough to pay for it)

Stuffed capacitors maybe?

Badcaps.net can replace them I believe...

Have Stripped the mac right down to a empty case. Looked over the logic board and both cpu boards. Also looked over ram. No swollen capacitors or ooze or crusty parts.
Have put all back together and still doing same thing. :)
