He was chairman of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, in 1882, when the railroad was built. One of the important functions of the line was to bring the tourists.

His motto was:

"Since we can't export the scenery, we shall have to import the tourists."

Great saying. Knew that you would want to know that.:)

Personally I am going to be cremated and have my ashes mixed with several tons of organic fertiliser supplied by Bulls and scattered over all of NZ.

That way I will become part of the land that Maori worship so much. :thumbs:
