I have two computers networked and I want to transfer hundreds of photo files from one to the other. Takes hours over the network. Is there another way of connecting the computers for faster file transfer? David

it sounds as if your'e transferring the photos over wireless which would be slow as hell, based upon the amount of photos you are transferring..

what's the distance between the two pc's?

Put the HDD from one into the other.

^x2 - or connect them via crossover cable; have done this before, and it was lightening-quick.

The computers are beside one another so the crossover cable sounds like the way to go. How to? Thanks David

I see Dick Smith have crossover cables. Do you use the ethernet ports and access one computer to another via explorer?

Well you can either copy and paste from one to the other. Or add each PC to sendto. Then you can select all of the files (if they're in one folder). Then all of them will be copied from one to the other. Crossover is usually ethernet
