Hi Guys,
I just bought an Asus G50VT-A1. 2x 250GB 7200 onboard.
The OS is being freshly installed.
The stock setup is OS on one and data on the other.
Seems a waste to not pull the OS into a smaller partition ?

no idea about raid despite reading wiki ;)

Planning to use it for photo storage and editing and of course Grand Prix Legends :D

thanks for any clues :)
Pete

I use 2 X 200 Gig drives.

First drive is partitioned in two with one O/S and programs and the other for data.

Second drive is an image of the first drive.

Simply reduce the partition size on the Drive with the OS down to what you want, create a new partition on that drive.

Are the HDD's set up as some sort of raid already, or simply as two separate Hdd's ? (what type of RAID are you after)

What's the advantage of putting OS in one partition and programs in another?

Or you have any special reasons for doing so?

Sorry but I don't do that.

First partition contains O/S AND Programs. Second Partition is Data.

The other physical drive is an image of the boot drive with both partitions.

I thought I would do that ....

It was in RAID 0 apparently
