Federal authorities announced that they had seized domain names from nine websites engaged in the "criminal theft of American movies and television." The websites include TVShack.net, PlanetMoviez.com, ThePirateCity.org and Ninjavideo.net. Combined, the sites drew 6.7 million visitors a month, authorities said.

Usenet is still alive, Rapidshare, MegaUploads, HotFiles; there's a new one popping up every day.
Nothing has changed, nothing will.

Rapidshare is ranked 36th in the world. 36th. All three are in the top 100.

Yet the feds have left Google News alone, as Rupert Murdoch from Fairfax accuses Google of "stealing" news - so he blocked his news sites from crawling from Google...
