Having difficulty making Pictures hold their place on the page.
No trouble inserting
(Insert - Picture - file,
Doouble click the picture - wrap - size.)

The picture will not hold its position on the page. What is the small 'Anchor' that sometime shows?

Running Microsoft 98

Bruce, when you insert a picture, it is placed relative to the text or paragraph that the cursor is on. You can anchor a picture to a paragraph so that when the paragraph moves in the document, the picture will move with it.
I commonly place a picture on the page and don't want it attached to any text so I select the picture, right click on it and select Format Picture...
On the Layout tab select Behind text or In front of text, click the Advanced button.
On the Picture Position tab un-check both Move object with text and Lock anchor.
These options are actually quite powerful and I encourage you to play around with them to achieve different effects.

Perhaps you can try placing the picture in a text box instead. And set the text box border color to none to get rid of the outside box line.
