Hey my mate is moving house soon and has asked if I could help link her Telecom supplied Thompson modem router with her parents Vodafone supplied Dlink one, because her one has wireless and theirs does not, can this be done with out too much trouble?

You can, though personally I'd ditch the D-Link and jut use one.

Not specifically, but it's easier than trying to link the two ;)

Go here
http://telecom.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1505/r_id/166/search/1/kw/TG585%20setup

Or this

1. Load the web based configuration page at 192.168.1.254
2. In the Broadband Connection menu, click Internet Services.
3. Click the View More link of the internet service you want to view.
4. Click on the current username to edit & change it.
5. Click on the current password to edit & change it.
6. Click the connect button to save the changes & the modem should
authenticate.
