Are there any cheap quality places? Or do you all just go to jaycar/dick smith etc?
I'm looking to buy a shielded DE-15 extension cable (like a VGA cable, but it has all 15 pins)

PBTech isn't bad, or maybe Trademe? I find DSE to be very very dear with cables.

There are a few website that deal mainly in cables, one in particular, but I can't think of any of their names right at the moment.

They get all their cables from the same place we get ours, Computer Dynamics.
Never had a problem with any cables from them, ever, in over 15 years of using them as a supplier.

They sell direct to the public, but offer no technical advice, so you got to know what you are buying.

computer dynamics don't sale direct to public. I had a bad 10m VGA extention cable for a projector. 2 cables were giving a fuzzy picture. Change to a couple from Dove and issues gone. No other issues with their cables though.

computer dynamics sell to public? I didn't know that. Their website says they use resellers.

I've bought things either from Dick Smith, Trademe or eBay.

A friend bought some HDMI and DVI cables from Cablesdirect, they seemed OK.

DSE and Noel Lemmings. Bought a HDMI cable from Noel Lemmings when I bought my Blue Ray Player.

Ouch. . . . .How many notes did you have to lay down for that privilege? When I bought my TV there, they tried to sell me a 2 metre one for $80.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. . . . . :)

Seriously haven't bought any apart from:

My 1200bps modem in 1992 - serial cable.
1997 crossover cable for our 10BT OEM card for the PC connecting to laptop.
Bro got a HDMI for his Xbox 360.

Just used cables from the stuff we bought, printers, scanners, monitors/LCDs, motherboards, modems, network cards, external enclosures (2.5").

Just went to DSE easy easy and before the Pricespy days ...
