hi, as the title says I'm looking to buy a new CPU fan and i want to get some really good thermal paste to go with it, my CPU fan is for a core i7 860 2.80GHZ on a gigabyte motherboard, i want maximum cooling as i play a lot of processor, memory and graphic intensive games and i want to make sure overheating will never be an issue, i have never bought a CPU fan or thermal paste before so i have no idea what to look for, any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

P.s if you need anymore info about my PC let me know :)

edit: i have a thermaltake armor + MX case

For paste, Arctic Silver 5 is a good option.

You need to look up some reviews of different coolers for your CPU. There's loads of them, they'll tell what the noise level is like and whether cooling at stock and overclocked speeds are like.

+1 for DeSade above

The i7 860 stock Intel cooler however is perfectly fine if your not planning to overclock. Its a little noisy which is subjective, but does the job with stock clocks as long as your case cooling is half decent.

Even if you are planning a mild overclock, your stock heatsink is likely to be fine, especially if you're careful with voltages when overclocking.

Only buy aftermarket if you're looking to push it a bit. If you are, +1 to DeSade.

would it be possible to use that cpu cooler with a 25mm fan on each side next to a dominator ram cooler?
