after playing grand theft auto (III, Vice City, San Andreas) for a while, or any 3d game. my screens will go blank and the sound will cut off and i will have to restart my pc.

is their a fix for this? it never did it on my old pc. i have the latest video card driver. maybe a minor issue?

sounds like a heat issue on your video card possibly what temps are you hitting?

i am unsure. i have left the pci slot below it blank so it gets air. should i put in a fan at the front of my pc? it could help air flow, i have 1 at the back

without random guessing and stabbing in the dark, it "may" be heat, can you post your basic Machine specs, CPU,RAM,GPU,O/S

Does your event viewer give any clues?

Its probably the problem you've been having with anything you've installed on it

Speed fan can make mistakes, 127C is damn high if its real, what does the bios say about the temperature?

Get the 32 bit or 64 bit version of this one depending on your O/S:-

http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

Run it minimised and play the games.

Check both the graphics fan and heatsink and the CPU fan and heatsink for dust/fluff buildup. Make sure you look at the heatsink too..

my heat sink its a bit dirty, but i really don't know how to clean it. a few small bits of my motherboard are caked in dirt. how do i clean this. i dont have a compressor so thats out of the question (using compressed air)

Grand Theft Auto III: is working fine

now i gotta test:

GTA: Vice City
GTA: San Andreas
Counterstrike 1.6
Halo: Combat Evolved
Battlefield 1942
Battlefield Vietnam

You can buy cans of compressed air from Dick Smiths. Here. (http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4bf8f78c01e410542741c0a87f3b06f6/Product/View/N1123)

Speed fan can make mistakes, 127C is damn high if its real, what does the bios say about the temperature?

If that temperature was real there would be more obvious problems, probably those involving bad smells and possibly smoke.

Goodiesguy: I would try updating Video and Sound drivers, and installing the latest DirectX...

Do you know what the 68C and 51C temperature correspond to?

I'm guessing GPU and CPU in that order. Can you confirm?

Still haven't seen any useful system spec information posted,

My "random" guess to go along with the heat guess is, an alien is using some sort or ray gun from space crashing his PC

This is so much more fun than having useful information!
