is it worth waiting for the new OS to be on the touch(comes out june 7 i think) then buying or just buy one now(soonish) and forgetting about?

isnt the v4 OS more usefull for the iphone/ipad?

dont you have to pay for 'major OS' upgrades for the touch aswell?

cheers

Probably makes no difference, although don't get an 8GB one, as many of the features in v4 won't work on the older versions, apart from the 16 and 32 GB ones. eg multitasking won't work.

Yes, be certain to get a 3rd Generation, as from what I understand they *will* be compatible with OSv4.

Won't make terribly much difference though, you'll still be able to use it, just on the older-model devices multitasking will be disabled. Again, not a biggy for an iTouch, but still ...

the upgrade cost is only expected to be $10-$15

most of the upgrades are more of use on the phone.

Although now I think about it, I think only the 64GB versions will be permitted to upgrade to OS4...

You get it via the itunes store - so any payment method that works with the store is fine.

I think it is processor related, and both the new 32GB and 64GB run the same new processor that the iphone 3gs does. The old 32 GB doesn't, 2nd generation one doesn't. The current 8GB is really the 2nd generation ipod touch so also doesn't support it. Really confusing to someone new to them.

Just use a prezzy card if you don't have a creditcard/debit plus.

Hard to say really, there is no profit in apple gear, so proably little interest in customer support.

Exactly. Try Magnummac otherwise, they're good.

Nothing wrong with just getting an iTouch from DSE. That said, they're not likely to give you anything more or less than anybody else, there's really not a lot to the iTouch aside from "Plug it in and follow the prompts"...

I didn't find them particually good when dealing with a warrenty repair. Firstly they referred me to apple to get the item replaced. Apple then wanted me to take it into the store, when I wasn't even local and I actually purchased the item online. When I went into the store to get the item replaced, after apple told me they would replace it on the spot, I was told they would need to send the item away and they would need to wait for a new one to come it, which I would need to come in and pick up. I think if buying online, you are better to buy directly from apple, as they would then handle all that for you.
