I have noticed on two computers with Microsoft Security that the update time is always different to the time on the computer. For instance it will announce an update at 2am & the computer has been off all night! Doesn't affect the operation, but curious. Could it be USA time or wherever the update comes from?

Are both on the right timezone? If the timezone is wrong, the time will be wrong as well

If youre talking about the scheduled scan, thats just a default time. Obviously it cant do anything if the PC is off. If you want to use it change the time or disable it

Depends if the PC is asleep, or off. If it's asleep most modern PCs can wake themselves up for the updates in the middle of the night, which is quite handy for keeping all the scheduled tasks like backups and updates and defrags current without getting in your way. Are you sure it's off and not asleep?

cheers

That's the time the definitions were created, US time.

Come to think of it, it is "created" so that was the time that the file was created, not installed.
