Hi folks.
Just installed W7 and planning to keep it all tidy for a change.

I have a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive 300 GB, used previously elsewhere as a backup. It has some old data on it and is single drive.

I want to clean it, and make two backup drives - one for my programmes and one for data (correspondence, photos, etc.)

Can anyone walk me through the clean and divide routine? Help appreciated.

What I think your asking is to partition the external drive in two halves and then format them.

You dont have to worry about wiping it as such as it will be wiped once you delete the single partition you have now.

Cause im a tad lazy I "youtubed" it, this guy is deleting two partitions and creating one, kinda the opposite of what you want but you shouldn't have a prob working it in reverse.

Thanks Battlenetter... I should have thought of Youtube. There was one segment dealing exactly with my query. Appreciated.
