Did Win 7 not load one for it? It is pretty good on driver recognition

32 bit

Win 7 did load the driver but it doesn't seem to be quite right - colours seems to be very dull, not as bright as original XP driver.

Only x1xxx drivers are here (http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.13&lang=English). And the only radeon mobility drivers are HD2000 - 5000 drivers. If this is a notebook/laptop, you may have to check the manufacturer's site

It is a notebook and there is nothing in the manufacturer's site - not even Vista.

And what came on it?? Vista? It probably didnt need any, since they'll be in / on the restore partition / cd's / dvd.

Obviously it wasnt made for Windows 7. Since there are no drivers for 32 or 64 bit.

Did you try the ATI drivers?

x1600 is not included in the ATI drivers.
