Hi to all out there,
I have a problem with a 'DSE XH1136 56k PCI Modem card.'
I want to install this card into a computer running with Win7.
On the computer,Device Manager show the Modem driver as installed,
but, after setting a dailup connection, when I go to log on, I am told the
Modem is not connected.
I tried the same card in a computer running on XP and had no trouble connecting. I downloaded the driver for this card from DSE--XP version.
Can I even get dialup using Win7??
Any help would be grateful.

You probably cant use the same driver in win7 that you used for WinXP.

Check for updates in windows 7, see if there's an update for the modem (If its 32 bit). It probably wont work with 64 bit, if youre using 64 bit

DSE doesn't seem to supply drivers for Windows 7 for it, BUT sometimes you can get generic drivers for the chipset it uses.

Try asking Windows 7 if it can find the drivers online itself, it might actually do that (but of course, you will need an internet connection before you can do that!!)

Just to add: I might have one of these modems around somewhere. I'll try to find it and get it running in Windows 7, if I do, I'll tell you how...

Same card I used previously on XP, but died during a lightening storm, after a power pole got zapped. Replaced with an Intel(R) 536EP modem, which more likely have updated drivers, and got updates during Windows XP updates.

Look for a Vista driver.
DSE have some drivers on their site.
