Is this a 3 user security system with 1 year license? what does SOHO mean?

The license will be valid for 3 users. SOHO means its just the home edition I'm guessing. If I was you I'd just get the anti-virus and not the whole security suite, too resource intensive.

Yeah, it will be valid for 3 users for 1 year. After the year is up you will need to renew it or it will stop downloading definitions.

Not sure how they keep track of the 3 users but I'm sure there is some leeway to this.

Probably when the definitions are updated, it contacts the server which checks the database and the number of users

Its not resource hungry at all. In fact the latest 4.2 is even less. I uninstalled version 4 yesterday, and put in 4.2, and you couldn't even tell the difference with it in or out. Looking at Task manager this is The only listing (http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/Nod321269457420.jpg) for ESS -- real hungry NOT.

You forgot about the ekrn process!
But yes it is not like other security suites that do slow your machine down.

opps ! but its still hardly even noticed.. I uninstalled 4.0 because I had alwasy did upgrades, and decided to completely remove it before putting in 4.2 - this morning when the PC started, I had to look twice to make sure it had actually started, it was so quick, almost as if it wasn't there. Did a scan and didn't notice any slow down at all.

Customers PC in th workshop - Norton- Now thats slow. :D

What is TB3?

I think Eset rely on honesty for the number of computers you can use a licence on.

I have a 13 user license, and its been installed mult times on Test machines, drives wiped after-wards, but no more than 13 at a time and its never complained.

The NZ distributor gets logs from Eset of all the NZ IPs that are doing NOD32 updates.
If they see a number of different IPs getting updates, that are using the same username/password and the number of licenses that username actually has purchased is less, then they might cancel that username/password.

Hey wainui have you tried the new Exchange V4 with the spam filter yet?

Hi CYaBro -- Nope sorry -- Nothing to put Exchange V4 onto  Any of my servers are basically file servers.
